Ornatus Mundi [lat: beautiful harmony]: This is the solar system that fine timepieces represent for me: an exciting world of craftsmanship, human creativity, history, design, mechanics and luxury.

This site was created to get across the fascination of mechanical watches, to report about recent events, to portrait interesting people behind the scenes and to review watches that are my personal highlights of the art of fine watchmaking.

Besides this private site I'm moderating the official Blancpain watch forum since April 2003. To have close contact and exchange with both, the Blancpain manufacture as well as the Blancpain aficionados, is a great joy and challenge for me. I hope that the discussion of ideas, problems and enthusiasms about Blancpain is fruitful to both sides.

I'm 35 years old and live in Vienna, Austria and Zurich, Switzerland. I hold a PhD molecular biology (cellular signaling events in cancer and diabetes diseases) and a postgraduate certificate in diplomacy, international relations, economy and law from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. Currently. I'm working in the field of Biotechnology for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna.

I hope you enjoyed this site, and I encurage you to give me your comments, critics and suggestions.
